With so many demands on our time nowadays, it’s not uncommon to feel guilty at not being able to fit everything in. This feeling may only be heightened when it means not spending time with members of your family who perhaps now live alone and could be some distance away. This, in part, helps to explain the high levels of requests we receive for our Companionship service.
We provide reassurance
You need to be assured that your loved one is safe and well at those times you cannot be there. Our friendly, fully trained, professional carers can provide you with the reassurance you need by spending time with your loved one, preparing meals, accompanying them to the shops and appointments, supporting them in a new or existing hobby, helping with travel arrangements, playing games or just sitting with them having a good old chat. Our carers will become an extension to the family keeping you in the loop at all times.
We regularly see the positive impact that a companionship call has on our service users. People get tremendous health and mental stimulation from spending time with a familiar face on a regular basis and look forward to seeing them.
Early indicator
Many family members we’ve worked with have found the Companionship service an extremely useful way of getting an early insight into how their loved-one’s future care requirements can be best planned. This is a very effective way of introducing the service user to additional services over a longer period of time thereby ensuring their care needs are more seamlessly introduced. This all makes for less of an adjustment whilst enjoying the familiar and comfortable surroundings of their own home.
